Have you deleted or lost contacts on your Android phone? Find out how to recover them on your phone.
Losing one or more contacts is not good for anyone. However, you may find yourself in this situation when you switch phones, update your terminal’s operating system, or have unintentionally deleted a number and are now regretting it.
As complex as it may seem, this situation is not irreversible for devices, as there are several ways to recover them.
Recovering deleted contacts from Gmail
To locate that number that you accidentally deleted from your phone, you’ll need to do the following:
In your browser (mobile or computer), you’ll sign in to Gmail with your Google Account.
At the top left, click on ‘Gmail’ to open a drop-down menu and choose ‘Contacts’.
Inside the panel you will go down, and you will press the option “Change to the previous version”.
Once in the previous version of the panel, in the options located on the left, choose “Restore contacts” this will open a window in which you will have to select the period of time to which you want it to be restored. If you don’t know when you might have deleted the contact, it’s best to choose the longest possible period that the manual option allows.
Finally, if you don’t know if you have the option to automatically sync contacts on your mobile enabled, you’ll need to log in from your computer to Settings > Accounts > Google, choose your account and activate the option or see when it was last synced to make sure your contacts are already restored to your phone.
How to recover deleted contacts without Gmail/synchronization:
If you didn’t have Gmail sync enabled, one of the easiest ways to recover your deleted contacts is to use a data recovery program. UltDara – Android data recovery is an excellent solution in this regard, as you can download the program for free.
To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1. Download the software to your PC and install it. Keep in mind that there is a version compatible with Mac and another designed for Windows. Open UltData and connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
Step 2. Check that USB debugging is enabled on your device. To do this, choose the tab with the version of Android you are using and follow the steps as instructed.
Step 3. The program will detect your phone and display a pop-up window for USB debugging. Click “OK”. In the next panel, click “Contacts” and “Next”.
Step 4. When the process is complete, a preview of the recoverable contacts will appear. There is a possibility of filtering to display only the contacts you have deleted. Choose the ones you want to recover and click on the “Recover” button at the bottom right of the window.
Step 5. You can now save the lost contacts on your computer and transfer them to your device.
